About Bethany Beach
Bethany Beach is a small beach town North of Ocean City, MD. With it being around 1.2 Square miles, you can pass right through it and not even know! However, 1,060 residents occupy it permanently an astounding 15,000 populate the town during the summer time and 10's of thousands if not 100's choose to stop and enjoy the town and what it can offer. With that being said, this little hidden gem is something worth noting when coming to Delaware for a vacation. The town exemplifies an assortment of unique shops and restaurants! When you are done perusing about the town, you can enjoy a relaxing day on a clean and scrupulously maintained beach.
Visitors Need to Know
Parking
- Pay to park is in effect between May 15 and September 15
- Everyone is required to pay!
- Current rate is at 2 dollars per hour
- Daily parking permits are available (1 day=$27, 3 days=$79, and 7 days=$183)

Beach Rules
- No ball playing, tossing objects, kites, or fishing during lifeguard hours
- No alcoholic beverages or glass containers
- No boats or vehicles on beach
- No dogs May 15 through September 30
- No fires
- No littering
- Beach closed to public from 1:00 am to 5:00 am daily
- No sleeping on beach from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am
- Surfing allowed north of Campbell Place
- Stay off of rock jetties
- Swim only between orange flags
- No digging large holes in sand
Boardwalk Rules
- No dogs May 15 through September 30
- No bikes, except from 6:00 am to 9:00 am daily
- No roller skates, skateboards, motor bikes, or motorcycles
- No littering
- No tossing objects
- No kites
- No alcoholic beverages
